Zane Griffin Talley Cooper

Zane is a PhD candidate and filmmaker at the Annenberg School for Communication at Penn. He is currently a doctoral fellow at the Center for Advanced Research on Global Communication, and a member of the Social Challenges of Climate Change Doctoral Working Group at NYU’s Institute for Public Knowledge. Zane’s research broadly concerns the cultural and ecological politics of digital media infrastructures, and how they intersect with regimes of energy production and raw resource extraction. Before entering grad school, Zane waited tables for ten years up and down the California coast, making films and occasionally acting in commercials.
